from goodreads.com:
From the bestselling author of "Russell the Sheep" comes a brand-new, lovable character. It's Splat the cat's first day of school and he's worried. What if he doesn't make any new friends? As the day progresses, Splat learns an important lesson.
* When I was volunteering at my daughter's book fair earlier in the school year I saw some early chapter books featuring Splat the Cat. We had never read any of the books before and I figured we should start with the first! In this book, Splat the Cat is nervous about his first day of cat school. To help comfort him he brings his pet mouse to school, only to learn that cats are supposed to chase mice. Splat asks a lot of questions and when the others discover Seymour, his pet mouse, it looks like there may be an unhappy ending....but of course there's not. Overall, it was an okay book for us. The highlight of the book might have been the kids finding the teacher's name, Mrs. WimpyDimple so amusing.
